![]() I don't play without NH.įYI, New Horizons is currently v2.90b, and while I have not tested everything, most of the functions here still work properly, but some do not. For that matter, there's a host of other units, and "races", I have in mind to add, including referencing additional Russian, Finnish, Slavic, Celtic, Norse, Chinese, and Japanese myths-and moving the fantasy "theme" further away from Western themes, and futher "East", in general. Thanks to all who contributed to these tables for Eador Genesis, and especially the New Horizons cheat tables. It's nice to see a game using broader, less generic, and even more modern, fantasy references. I'm personally all for keeping Witchers in the game. It was a nice touch, with unusual abilities, and nicely supported by game-text. I actually liked the addition of the 'Witcher' unit. I just couldn't spot where to register, and attempting to "log in" seemed to lead nowhere. ![]() I don't speak Russian (My mother spoke some, but I've unfortunately never been able to pick up more than a few words, and can't read much Cyrilic, at all), but there are English translations for a good portion of the text. I'm sure I can't be the only one, out there?Īlso: I've been to the New Horizons official "Guild of Craftsmen" forum, and I tried registering, but I wasn't able to figure out how, and ultimately had to give up. There's a link to some kind of "modding tool", but Steam has removed the download button (and indicated that it probably linked to some form of malware, or other), so I'm a bit wary, but I'd LOVE to be able to tinker with Eador:Genesis, and take 'New Horizons' just a little bit further, in my own directions. I also, KIND OF, have a foggy notion of how to "manually" mod other things, but I'd love to have something easier to use. Modding the descriptions is easy, and I've already done some of that. It inspires me to want to mod the game, myself, though.Īre there any real tools out there, for doing that? Adding units, items, buildings, resources, etc., and modding heroes, for example? I LOVE the New Horizons mod! It takes an already great game, and pushes it beyond all expectations. Deserters remain alive only in case of victory. If all enemy units have fled, the battle is won. Also, the fight no longer ends immediately when all enemies are panicked - you have to kill them or wait for them to desert. They stay alive, but lose half of their remaining health. ![]() Panicked units will now desert when they reach the edge of the battlefield. Clicking on a picture opens a window with the description of all types. When comparing the hero's army to a neutral province's defenders, alliances are now taken into account - defenders are more willing to negotiate if the player has forged an alliance with their kind.Īdded tooltip for creature type and class (hover over the unit pic in the unit stat window). When enabled, a new menu will appear when hiring a Scout.Īdded three musical themes (main menu, main window, battle) - made by Eador composer Evgeniy Gulyugin. When enabled, the first dialog with Danur will offer an option to jump to the Astral Plane.Īdd config option to let a player choose a Scout's favorite terrain. When enabled, before each battle, player will be given the option to control his guards.Īdd config option to let new players skip the campaign tutorial. Removed most hiring scrolls and allied strongholds.Īdded config option to let a player control his own province guards. Added button to switch between regular and allied troops. The quest log in the hero screen lists equivalent units.Īllied troops are now recruited from a separate window. Most units now have "equivalents" for quests that require killing specific creatures (generally plain/improved units, but there may be exceptions). If the hero has used Scouting, additional information is also saved. ![]() When exploring locations, detailed information about guards is provided in the description. Keep in mind that turning a spell back into a scroll costs as much as buying the scroll from a store! To do this, click on the desired spell while holding ALT - the spell will disappear, and the corresponding scroll will appear in your hero's inventory. įeedback is always welcome, so let us know if you encounter any issues or bugs Īdded "Blood Frenzy" ability, gives a unit an extra action for killing an enemy in melee.Īdded "Pike Wall" ability, adds the enemy's charging attack bonus to your counterattackĪdded "Persistence" ability, speeds health recovery outside of combat.Īfter building the Sages Guild, Secret Library, or Tower of Knowledge, you may turn spells in a hero's spellbook back into scrolls (respectively circles 1, 2, 3 spells). Please feel free to support the future development of New Horizons by a small donation. New Horizons English translation v2.60a has been released
